Summer 2013: Lincoln Park Music Festival

 

Friday, July 26: Jazz, Newark Idol & Gospel

12-3pm: The festival begins with "Jazz in Lincoln Park" Hosted by Amiri Baraka Featuring an All-Star presentation featuring Musical Tribute to Wayne Shorter "The NewArkestra" Featuring Adegoke Steve Colson, Alfred Patterson, Rudy Walker, Rene McLean, Gene Ghee, James Stewart, Carlos Francis, and Calvin Hill.

3-6pm: YOPAT presents its 9th Anniversary of Newark Idol Hosted by ButtaFly Soul: Tribute to Motown YOPAT's "Newark Idol" featuring City Wide Youth showcase of dancers, rappers, singers and spoken word and celebrity judges.

6-9pm:The day will end with "Gospel in Lincoln Park" Hosted by Rev. David Jefferson: An evening featuring local, regional and national recording gospel artists featuring Revival Temple Center of Deliverance, Paradise Baptist Church, Galilee Baptist Church, Elder Linell Andrews & One Voice, Will Brown & Another Level, KGT (Keeping God's Trust-Quartet), Chrystal Atmosphere Turner, Dawn Tallman, Pastor Deneen Jones with special guest Jules Bartholomew featuring JudaCamp.

Saturday, July 27: Celebration of House

12-9:30pm:Hosted by The Legendary "Ms. Theresa Randolph" and Slaag Records Recording Artist "Mr. Eddie Nicholas" with special guests appearances. Featuring DJ's Jihad Muhammad, Punch "Zanzibar," with special guest Boyd Jarvis on keyboards, Mark Francis, Beloved, Carl Dupree, Glenn Thornton and Terell Simmons. Artists include Teresa Griffin, Tiger Wilson, Tia Holt and Dawn Souluvn Williams.

"House in Lincoln Park" will also feature Live percussionists throughout the day featuring indigenous instruments from Brazil, West Africa, Peru, and India.

Sunday, July 28: Hip Hop in Lincoln Park

If you love Hip Hop, then Sunday, July 28th be in Lincoln Park from 1pm - 8pm. Get ready to witness history with performances by: Black Thought of The Roots, Redman, Lords of the Underground, The Hit Squad (Das EXF, K-Solo, EPMD, Redman), Rah Digga, Artifacts, Sugar Hill Gang, Kwame, Naughty by Nature, Kid Capri, Rappers Delight, Mr. Cheeks of the Lost Boys, and many surprise guests.
