Come learn about Newark and New Jersey’s African American past through the life of freed slave Cudjo Banquante. Kofi Ayim, noted writer, researcher, and historian has written a gripping account of the life of Cudjo and the lives of his descendants in the United States and Ghana. Mr. Ayim will be signing his new book Jack Cudjo: Newarks Revolutionary Soldier and First Black Businessman and sharing information about his eight year journey uncovering the saga of Cudjo and his heirs to present day Ghana and Ohio.
