Over Here: Newark Mobilizes for WWI
Date(s): April 6, 2017 at 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: Newark Public Library
At the Newark History Society’s next program, George Robb will discuss Newark’s extensive mobilization for World War I. While World War I raged “over there” in Europe, countless Americans “over here” worked for victory, including in Newark.
Dr. Robb’s illustrated presentation, “Over Here: Newark Mobilizes for World War I,” will take place on Thursday, April 6 at 6:00pm in Centennial Hall at the Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street. A widely published historian and Newark resident, Dr. Robb is professor of history at William Paterson University
He has also prepared an outstanding exhibit on this topic, with historic photographs, sheet music, pamphlets, posters, and other materials from the Library’s and his personal collections. It’s well worth seeing! It will be available for viewing in the Main Library’s third floor gallery on the evening of our program and throughout the rest of the year.
This program is open to the public at no cost. Light refreshments.
