97 year young Norma Miller, the last original Lindy Hopper will be in attendance for the screening of the "Queen of Swing," the documentary about her life that will take place at WBGO's studio, 54 Park Place, Newark, NJ on November 6th at 6:00pm.
At a time of civil strife in America, the birth of jazz music and new black dance forms played an important role in breaking down the barriers to racial equality. Norma Miller was at the center of that cultural revolution. She never looked back from her start at the famed Savoy Ballroom in 1932, and has danced her way into the hearts and minds of a worldwide audience. This magnificent film screening is in conjunction with the TD James Moody Jazz Festival.
